What is Bitcoin?
Bitcoin was created out of the turmoil of the 2008 Great Recession as disrupt of banks and their role in the financial system grew. An individual or a group of people going by the name Satoshi Nakamoto used a white paper to address the centralized control of money and trust required in handing citizens’s cash.
Basically, bitcoin is a digital currency that has been created without the intervention of a central bank. While the Federal Reserve is responsible for America’s monetary system, bitcoin does not have a single person or organisation in charge.
